# 3.0 Locks 1st Gen iPhone

Despite what some [other blogs claim](http://henstudio.com/apple/iphone-apps/2009/06/18/iphone-30-firmware-upgrade-for-jailbreak-iphone-2g-and-iphone-3g/?ref=larrysalibra.com) restoring my jailbroken/unlocked 1st generation iPhone with 3.0 software did result in it being re-locked to AT&T making it impossible to use my China Mobile GoTone SIM. Activation with iTunes would only work with the original AT&T sim and did not work with a [3 Hong Kong](http://www.three.com.hk/?ref=larrysalibra.com) SIM despite 3HK being an official iPhone carrier.
