Baby's last burp

I just sat my 3 month old son down on my leg for his post midnight feed burping. Deep in milk food coma, I tilted him forward and gently patting him on the back with a cupped hand until I heard that satisfying sound of a baby's burp. I looked at his face and found him peacefully asleep, blissfully unaware of the burping victory his dad had just achieved.

I couldn't help but to think that one day I will burp my son for the last time. When the time for the final burp comes, will I even know?
