The occupation of Iraq is over. How long will it last?

I couldn't help but notice that US troops finally left Iraq 23 years after they invaded it (and that was the second time in my lifetime!).

While it is good that they are finally leaving, when occupying powers meddle in a foreign country and then leave, this often results in a power vacuum which other parties that were biding their time can now take advantage of. I suspect the recent instability in that part of the world is just going to increase. Let's see what happens...
