Whiners are the worst part of bear markets
Something changed this week when US Treasury Secretary Bessent took a step towards yield curve control. The money printing is coming...it is mechanical and inevitable...and the market suddenly decided to acknowledge this. Bitcoin and high-quality altcoins, including Stacks, pumped in response.
But it wasn't just the price that changed, sentiment also changed. The bear market whiners finally stopped whining.
Speaking of whiners, they are the absolute worst part of bear markets. A 99% price drawdown is nothing compared to months upon months of listening to incredibly insecure, yet well-meaning people, whine about the direction of projects. I get it, you lost paper wealth...welcome to the club...so did everyone else! Whining, however, is not productive. You should either constructively contribute by building, marketing or building consensus to move in an alternative direction, be supportive, or you should exit your position and go do something else. Complaining about what could have, should have or would have happened wastes everyone's time. It's also not psychologically healthy for you or the people to whom you whine.
I suspect the whining was even worse this time around because so many members of the FOMO crowd couldn't handle that AI people were making bank while Bitcoin was behaving more like a stable coin. Not only can you not time the market, you can't be early on every new trend. So stop beating yourself up over it...or at least beat yourself up quietly and leave the rest of us in peace!
But now, everyone that wanted to sold has sold and the whiners are gone. Those of us still here actually want to be here. The future is bright, possibilities are endless and there was never a better time to start building than now!
